When I first met George, I had already built a successful business turning over $3 Million per year. I have always been very ambitious and wanted to grow even more. The only problem was that the growth had been organic and largely driven by sheer will power. Therefore, there were no systems or structures in place so the business had stalled and hit a glass ceiling. I was burnt out, unmotivated and feeling “over it”.

When I first met George, I was in the process of inheriting the family business which has been established in the Sydney suburb of Surry Hills for over 40 years.

At the time, we were a small retail shop selling old and second hand furniture. I was looking for help because I wanted to change the direction of the business into a custom designed, high end retailer and had no idea on how to do that.

I first met George through our franchise group and was keen to get new ideas and help to grow my business.

Back then, I had a decent business that was making money, but was working very, very hard for it and I knew we could do much better. I just didn’t know how.

We are based in a remote mining town where it is hard to operate a business and everything is very reactive, constantly “up and down” and dependent on others. I didn’t realise it at the time, but my business was set up to be a reflection of this.
